Tell me something about yourself.
I’m a science student and just an everyday girl who loves reading, food, and clothes.

Do you have a favorite book and what are you currently reading?
I read mostly bad boy stories from Wattpad. So no favourites really.
Currently reading ‘I sold myself to the devil for Vinyls, Pitiful I know’. It’s not as cliché as it sounds.

Are there any words or phrases that you use the most?
‘Oh my God!’, ‘Like seriously?’ I gasp at almost everything.

What’s the best part about your life in Kohima?
The weather!

Two school going girls.
c. 1960. Bombay, India.

“This photo is of my mother and her sister(in their mid teens) from the late 1960s. It was taken inside a flat in a heritage building in this area called Prarthna Samaj where many Gujarati merchants had initially settled and when Bombay was still being made.

My mom is the one in a pinafore at the back. She is a very strong woman. She went from wearing minis to wearing ghunghats to raising 3 kids on her own and now she works as a jewellery designer.”

What do you do and where are you from?
Currently pursuing a bachelors degree in mass communication. I am from Nagaland.

Tell me something about yourself?
I always have a rucksack on standby. I’m leaving for a new place any opportunity I get; I’m on a quest to become a true vagabond.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I remember always wanting to be in a band.

How would you describe your style?
Kind of like a Woodstock attendee. I also like layers.

What are you wearing?
Jeans and sweatshirt from H&M, oversized t-shirt I got stitched, and supra shoes.

Do you have any fashion icons?
Maverick from Top Gun and Jimi Hendrix.

A song you’re currently listening to on repeat.
Tora – Eat The Sun

Favorite book
Invisible Monsters

What phrase do you use the most?
“You get it?” Because I’m always on lookout for validation and reassurance.

Gursi | fashion week

October 17, 2015

street style fashion week delhi

Tell me something about yourself?  I am Gursi, a designer, perpetually looking out for bigger meanings in life.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? As a kid I always wanted to do and try different things, I realised way too early that the only thing that’s constant is change.

How would you describe your style? My style is mostly monochromatic, simple, and boxy.

What are you wearing? I am wearing a long oversize white shirt with grey melange paneling and a white low crotch pants – all lovebirds.

Do you have any pop culture figures that you look up to? I like the androgyny and madness of Miranda July and Thom Yorke.

How did you get interested in fashion?  I was always interested in design. I have been doing graphics, spaces, and illustrations, and while doing all that I always had an opinion about fashion. But I got more into it after meeting Amrita while she was curating western vintage. Of course traveling and east London inspired us to do more.

What are you currently listening to? Tropic of Cancer – The One Left

Currently reading? Milan Kundera’s Ignorance

A phrase you can’t avoid. It’s all a game!

A: Mush.

How would you describe your style?
P: Comfort & functional. Don’t know if theres a word for that. I wear what I feel like everyday.

P: No.
A: None, really. Maybe I lean towards what K-pop artistes wear.

What’s the best part about your life in Dimapur?
P: Family & friends. I cannot function without them.
A: The best part would be the security. I’m around family, friends, and working in the place I grew up and that familiarity is reassuring.

What song/band are you currently listening to?
P: I’m listening to a lot of K-pop lately like Big Bang, 2ne1. Bits of Tori kelly and Leroy Sanchez.
A: What Do You Mean? by Justin Bieber. Oriental Dream by Shalo Kent. (It’s not released yet.)

P: I don’t remember much. My head hurts thinking about it.
A: Work filled. Decorated a Ninja themed party and worked on a magazine design till 3 am.

What places do you recommend to hang at in Dimapur?
