I don’t often refer to myself as a human. I usually mask myself as an array of subjects such as a pizza or a hammerhead shark

“We both love basketball and soccer. We have been playing basketball together ever since we learnt how to dribble the ball in class 4. I captained Bhutanese basketball team in various tournaments and my sister runs a football club.

The Kira I am wearing in the picture was given to me by my mother which was handed down to her by her mother. It is an old pattern called the Hothra. The green blouse I am wearing is called Wonju and it is made of silk. The yellow jacket over the Kira is called a Tego and it is made of brocade. My necklace has a strand of cat’s eye stones with gold dorji and coral stones.

When we were little, we used to dress the same with every color matching, but now our style is very different.

I am currently listening to Ed Sheeran & The Weeknd while my sister is into hip-hop and she loves T.I.” — Namzay

Aga from Amdo, Tibet.

“I came to India from Tibet in 2005. We were 9 of us and we walked through the Himalayas for about 23 days. During the day we would rest and discuss which way to take in the night. We had packed Tsampa and cheese for the journey but when it got over we ate snow.

In the photo I am wearing the traditional Chuba that we usually wear in winters back at home.

I like Eric Claption and the Weeknd. Right now I am listening to some speeches by Gosher, a Tibetan monk.”
